International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT) in Sacramento is proud to honor fashion designer Jay Nicolas Sario and photographer Steven Parke at the Winter Honors Gala Dec. 3.
"IADT is excited to host such successful and passionate industry professionals," said Patricia Hoffman, IADT-Sacramento campus president. "These two individuals are great examples for our students. They demonstrate the hard work and dedication that it takes to be successful in their fields."
The gala, being held at the IADT-Sacramento campus, will feature an exclusive exhibition showcasing both artists through a fashion display, runway videos and photos. Sario, a "Project Runway" season seven contestant, has shown his collection during New York Fashion Week and is currently launching his own fashion line. Sario began his fashion career at Gap inc. as a visual merchandiser before following his passion to be a fashion designer.
Parke is a veteran of the art industry who's talents range from photography to graphic design and illustration. Parke spent most of his career in the music industry working with artists such as Bob Dylan, David Bowie and AC/DC. For 13 years, he served as the art director and photographer for internationally-known musician Prince. Most recently he has used his talents to break into the graphic novel industry. He was the digital artist for the graphic novel "I, Paparazzi" and also worked on "In the Shadow of Edgar Allan Poe," the first ever all-digitally photographed graphic novel.
Special guest Brown Mark will be the evening's guest presenter. Mark is known for his role as bass guitarist in Prince's touring band, The Revolution.
