This AWARE Webinar will focus on two major topics that will be of interest to faculty, students, administrators, evaluators, and employers. The first session of the webinar will run from 2:00pm-3:00pm EST and will discuss new program-level standards of student achievement at ACICS member institutions. The webinar will describe the standards for retention, placement, and licensure pass rates below which an institution is out of compliance. Additionally, the webinar will discuss the procedures that include an evaluation of all programs against these student achievement measures in the team report that is provided to each institution following an evaluation visit.
The second session of the webinar will run from 3:00pm-4:00pm EST and will describe new requirements for student homework with every lecture class. To receive federal financial aid for credit hour courses, two hours of out-of-class student work is now required for every hour of lecture. The webinar will discuss how institutional credit hour policies and student homework assignments will be reviewed by ACICS evaluators and what administrators, faculty and students can do to meet this new requirement. Conversion formulas for other types of instruction will also be described.
