I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Thomas B. Duff to the ACICS Council, effective Jan. 9, 2013. His appointment completes the roster of 15 commissioners that will compose the decision and policy-making body in 2013. Dr. Duff is no stranger to the Council or ACICS member institutions, having served as a Board Chair, Commissioner and Interim Executive Director in the past, as well as evaluator and team chair. An extended biography is provided below. We welcome Commissioner Duff to the Council.

Dr. Duff has served as a public member of more than 100 site review teams on behalf of ACICS. Most recently, his service to the sector and the agency was recognized by awarding him the ACICS Lifetime Achievement Award. Previously he served on the Council between 1996 and 2011, including as Chair in 2001. Dr. Duff served as interim Executive Director of ACICS in 2005. His experience in accreditation extends to the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business AACSB). He earned his Ph.D. in business and vocational education from the University of Minnesota, as well as a Master’s degree in business education. His baccalaureate degree in business education was earned at Winona State College in Minnesota.
