Campus Accountability Report (CAR) 2012

Campus Accountability Report (CAR)

The 2012 Campus Accountability Report (CAR) is now open.

STEP ONE – ADJUST THE LIST OF ACICS APPROVED PROGRAMS

Beginning on August 6th, please open the 2012 CAR and check the list of approved programs in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of the report. To open the report, simply log into the campus’ ACICS member portal account using the member portal login credentials. If problems are encountered while logging into the ACICS member portal or accessing the CAR link, please email eBiz@acics.org

TO ADD A PROGRAM – If a program approved prior to July 1, 2012 does not appear, email PAR@acics.org with “Program Addition Request” in the subject line. For programs that do not appear and were approved by ACICS prior to June 30, 2012, include in the message the approved program name and attach the following:

  •  ACICS approval letter and, where relevant,
  •  State approval letter

All ACICS approved programs will be added to the list by ACICS as soon as possible so that you can then enter enrollment data.

TO DELETE A PROGRAM – If an approved program appears but was discontinued prior to July 1, 2011, email PAR@acics.org. with “Program Deletion Request in the subject line.  Include in the message the following:

  • Name of the program
  • Credential level
  • Total credits awarded
  • Total clock/contact hours, and
  • Official discontinuation date (no active students enrolled in the program), which must have been before July 1, 2011.

All discontinued programs will be deleted from the program list by ACICS as soon as possible.

STEP TWO– ENTER DATA IN THE PROGRAM AND CAMPUS REPORTS

Please enter and save data in the program and campus reports.  Please consult the revised 2012 CAR Guidelines and Instructions on the ACICS website for information on interpreting questions, defining data, and navigating the form.  If the current program name, CIP code, CIP name, or credential level is incorrect, please enter the correct information in the appropriate field(s) provided below the pre-populated information.  If the current information is correct, no additional entry is required.  The information entered will be checked and used later as part of a comprehensive audit to update program information in the ACICS database and to correct any inconsistencies in the designation of programs.   When program and campus data entry is complete and correct, please submit the report.  The due date for all reports is November 1, 2012.  For answers to questions about the CAR reporting process, please email CAR@acics.org.

Thank you for your assistance and patience as we improve the utility of the CAR and the integrity of the ACICS program database.

Important CAR Information

Online Submission of Reports
All accredited main and additional location campuses which were accredited during the reporting period (July 1 through June 30) are required to file the Campus Accountability Report and supporting documentation online.

Retention and Placement Information
ACICS will determine average retention and placement rates annually for campuses based on information collected in the Campus Accountability Report and will provide this data to all accredited campuses in the Key Operating Statistics report.

 Student Achievement Review
ACICS will apply student achievement standards to data collected through the Campus Accountability Report. The student achievement standards are described on the website under the Accreditation tab. Campuses whose retention or placement rates fall below the ACICS compliance standard are restricted from beginning a new program and/or a nonmain location without first securing permission from ACICS.

Restrictions on New Activities
Campuses which are required to report placement and or retention data and submit a corrective action plan to bring the rates up in keeping with the expectations of ACICS may be restricted from beginning a new program without first securing permission from ACICS.

Request to Waive Restrictions
If a campus is applying for a waiver request to initiate a new program(s) and/or a nonmain location(s), and the campus is currently on retention and/or placement reporting, the information must be submitted at least 30 days prior to a Council Meeting.

Backup Documentation
Campuses are required to keep appropriate back-up data to verify the ACICS Campus Accountability Report. During all scheduled and unscheduled evaluations, campuses will be asked to produce this information.
